Thanks for visiting my website!
I am running to be your next State Representative from the 45th District. As a police officer and first-responder, I have seen the impact of Olympia’s spending choices and the negative results seeping into our communities. State government must begin to straighten out their priorities. I will work to control and balance our state budget while concentrating on our priorities of education, transportation and public safety. It is time for real leadership rooted in commonsense to make a comeback in the 45th Legislative District.
Why am I running? I believe the time has come for having at least one more police officer in Olympia representing the priorities of public safety and making sure that good laws are written allowing for proper enforcement and follow through in the judicial system. We can’t let a disingenuous, slow-moving state bureaucracy turn violent felons back out to the streets endangering those in our profession and the citizens we exist to serve.
My priorities are rather simple and straight forward. First, we need to start putting families before felons by creating tougher sentencing laws and keeping dangerous felons off the street. Second, it’s time to restore fiscal responsibility in Olympia and fix the projected $2.7 billion dollar deficit caused by overspending and massive growth of government. It is also necessary to close the achievement gap in our public schools by properly funding basic education and raising the standards for our students, instead of lowering them.
Lastly, but equally important is relieving the congestion in our transportation system by building more lane capacity and increasing the flexibility of our mass transit system. These priorities will make our state and our individual communities better places to live. I promise to stay true to these priorities if given the chance by voters in the 45th District.
I am concerned that my opponent has sat on the Transportation Committee for much of his tenure as State Representative, and has played a role in creating one of the slowest, most congested highway systems in the country. No elected official from the 45th District should be so indebted to their political party that they lose sight of the priorities that we all share as residents of one of the fasted growing areas of our state.
I believe we need real change in State Government. I have been in law enforcement almost my entire professional life, and I pledge not to lose sight of where I’ve come from while I’m in Olympia. While I respect the efforts and commitment of my opponent and his years of public service, it is past time for a new perspective.
Please browse my web site and give me your opinions. I am serious about representing the citizens of the 45th District, and not the party bosses.
